Michiko Sakano is an artist who uses glass as her prime medium. Inspired by her love of craft, color and texture, she has created everything from fused glass bracelets to large scale site specific installations. Sakano has a small business transitioned to provide full-service glass design, blowing and fabrication. Her expertise translates to both companies where she collaborates to bring their vision to fruition as well as the execution of her own work.

Sakano was born and raised in the city of Kanazawa on the West Coast of Japan. Her family has carried the tradition and business of Kimono making that dates back generations. She graduated from Syracuse University with a BFA and received a fellowship to attend The Massachusetts College of Art where she received her MFA.
