CLEA RSKY projects presents a new piece by Stephen Dean, whose exploration of color begins with the possibilities of available supports. At times, Dean turns to found grids—pages of want ads and crossword puzzles—filling their compartments with watercolor. These everyday structures become atmospheric compositions, their printed order softened by luminous application of pigment--the work allows color to move between the boundaries of the grid and the suggestion of possibilities.
